Celebrate the start of spring with us by enjoying our Holi burger😍
In February we asked YOU to come up with an Indian special to celebrate the wonderful Hindu festival Holi. We had some fantastic entries, with some amazing flavours and recipes. But we had to pick a winner, and the winner is 🥁*drum roll*🥁 Danny Rawling! With some fantastic flavours, ideas and influences we just had to many Danny’s burger for you all to enjoy!
After hundreds of entries, and looking at some many different recipes and flavours Danny’s ideas had the best combination of flavours whilst still able to make it vegan, veggie and meaty.
Danny’s entry included using an alternative bread for the bun, a spiced patty, aubergine pakora, Raita sauce and Saag Panner. Which built the basics of the burger, we decided to do a chicken patty that was Tandoori spiced to create a vibrant burger, which would then be the base of the Pakora and Sag aloo. Annie then added the Purple Poriyal and Gujiya to make it even more colourful!
Our Holi Chicken Burger is a Large grilled Tandoori Masala chicken sat on a grilled Paratha bread, fried Brinjal (Aubergine) Pakora, with homemade traditional Saag Paneer and garnished with Purple Poriyal (red cabbage coconut curry), cool Raita (Indian cucumber yogurt) with Holi festival favourite handmade Gujiya pastry on top.
Not only have we got a special burger this month… Just like last month with our Irish cocktail last month, this month we have the special Indian Sunrise, Opihr Gin, Mango & Passionfruit, Ginger Beer, cardamom pods sugar syrup and lime juice. Paired with our Indian burger it’s beautiful and the flavours pair together perfectly.
Start your spring with a bang and try our Holi burger and Indian Sunrise cocktail. And let us know what you think by tagging us in your photos on our socials, we’d love to hear what you think!
